A Far Cry’s Season 18: HEAR HERE

If you ask the “Criers” how we landed on the name A Far Cry, you’ll very likely receive a different answer from each person. Our name certainly pays homage to our unconventional model of shared leadership: we are “a far cry” from how a traditional orchestra operates. Taken more literally, “A Far Cry” is evocative of a distant sound—a sound intended (hoped!) to be heard. This connects our name to our vision of creating a world that listens, igniting a love for music and utilizing its power to bring people together. We harness that power through the act of listening.

As a musician-led ensemble without a conductor, we listen to each other, to what’s happening around us, and to you to bring each performance to life. A democracy like ours works best when every voice has a chance to be heard. This is the magic of music made collaboratively. Experience it yourself, and “hear here!”

Welcome to Season 18
